DO YOU WANT TO KNOW JESUS?
It doesn't matter where you are right now. What matters is that you're here today because someone planted a seed, and it's growing inside of you exactly where you are.
Maybe someone handed you a tract.
Maybe you already believe in God. Maybe you grew up in church. Maybe you're not sure what you believe.
However you got here, this isn't about joining a church, buying a book, or becoming religious.
It's about knowing Jesus!
“I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6 (ESV)
Jesus is the Son of God. He came into this world to show us the Father and to bring us back to God.
He wasn't simply a good man or a great teacher. He came for you and me.
WHO IS JESUS?
WHY DID HE COME?
Something is wrong between us and God.
Every one of us has lived our own way. We've done things we knew were wrong, hurt people, put ourselves first, and ignored God.
The Bible calls that sin:
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
—Romans 3:23 (ESV)
Sin separates us from God, and we cannot fix that separation ourselves.
That is why Jesus came.
He came to do for us what we could never do for ourselves.
He took our sin to the cross and gave His life for us.
“But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners,
Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 (ESV)
HE DIDN'T STAY DEAD
The Gospel isn't only that Jesus died for our sins. He rose!
HE DIED
Jesus willingly gave His life on the cross and took the penalty for our sin.
HE WAS BURIED
Jesus truly died. His body was placed in a tomb.
HE ROSE
On the third day, Jesus rose from the dead. He is alive.
“For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures,”
